Backfire is teaming up with The Café Racers Union (www.CafeRacersUnion.com) and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to raise awareness and funds for the fight against MS. The CRU is setting up a booth with drawings for prizes and a donation box along with information regarding MS, which is a disease that affects more than 2.5 million people worldwide. Along with their booth they will have an indoor display of motorcycles and custom Cafe Racers for all to enjoy.
The Café Racers Union (CRU) is a riding club focused on creating a positive impact on the community through sharing their passion of motorcycles and providing support for communities in need. CRU picks several charities per year to raise funding for in support of its cause. Charity groups are selected by the CRU membership.
MS is a chronic illness involving the central nervous system. The immune system attacks myelin, which is the protective layer around nerve fibers. This causes inflammation and scar tissue, or lesions. This can make it hard for your brain to send signals to the rest of your body. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 years old with over 200 new diagnosis made each week.
